FOLDING GUIDES
Sadako folded more than 1,000 classic origami cranes in her lifetime. Because there was a paper shortage in Japan after the war, she folded each crane with paper no larger than 3″ (about 7.5cm) square. Some of her cranes were no bigger than a grain of rice!
For an extra challenge, fold the smallest crane you can. For an easier way to spread peace, follow the instructions below and fold a dove or heart, both good choices for younger students. Also included here is a guide to fold a flapping wing crane, a favorite of many.
